S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust was founded on 9 February 1970 in order to fulfill the dreams of a great philanthropist and a man of vision Sri.S.N.Rangaswamy Naidu, by his four sons: Late.S.N.R.Chinnasamy Naidu, Late Prof. P.R.Ramaswami Naidu (Former Principal, GCT), Sri R.Doraiswami Naidu and Dr. R.Venkatesalu Naidu. Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) was started in the year 1994. It is affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Government of Tamil Nadu.

VISION:
The vision of the college is to develop into a leading world class Technological University, consisting of Schools of Excellence in various disciplines, with a co-existent Centre for Engineering Solutions Development for world-wide clientele.

MISSION:
The mission of the college is  Excellence in domain knowledge practice and theory, excellence in co-curricular and extracurricular talents, excellence in character and personality.

DIRECTOR:
Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar is the director of SREC who obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Annamalai University, Chidambaram in the year 1972. He obtained his Master's Degree from College of Engineering, Guindy, University of Madras in the year 1974 and his Doctorate from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University Chennai in the year 1992.  

PRINCIPAL:
Dr.R.Radhakrishnan is the principal of SREC obtained his Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathidasan University, Trichy in the year 1990. He obtained his Master's degree in Engineering in Applied Science from Bharathiar University in the year 1997 and his Doctorate from Anna University Chennai in 2008.
